About SPC's Coastal Fisheries Programme (CFP)
The Coastal Fisheries Programme (CFP) is one of two programmes that make up the Fisheries, Aquaculture and Marine Ecosystem (FAME) Division of SPC, the other one being the Oceanic Fisheries Programme. The CFP’s goal is: “coastal fisheries, nearshore fisheries and aquaculture in Pacific Island Countries and Territories are managed and developed sustainably”. The CFP is made up of two sections: the Aquaculture Section and the Coastal Fisheries Management, Science and Livelihoods Section.

Women in Fisheries Information Bulletin #37

This 37th edition of the Pacific Community’s (SPC) Women in Fisheries Information Bulletin has 19 original articles from the Pacific region. As borders opened, most organisations have quickly ramped up their work. As a result, there has been an astounding surge of work on gender in fisheries and aquaculture. We seemed to be making real progress on getting gender recognised as an integral part of the sector.

SPC FAME Business Plan 2022–2027

SPC's Fisheries, Aquaculture and Marine Ecosystems division's business plan for the next five years is anchored under our Strategic Plan 2022–2031 and is guided by members’ priorities expressed in the regional frameworks, Future of fisheries: A regional roadmap for sustainable Pacific fisheries and New song for coastal fisheries – pathways to change: The Noumea strategy. The plan is also in line with the aspirations outlined in the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent.

Household survey of Special Management Area communities in Tonga

This report presents the findings of a household survey conducted in SMA communities in February and March 2021. The purpose of the survey was to evaluate the socio-economic impacts and community perceptions of the SMA programme based on each SMA’s age and island group.
