Teachers' Resource Kit
on Fisheries for the Cook Islands

Prepared by Michael King with information and comments supplied by staff from the Pacific Community and the Cook Islands Ministry of Marine Resources.

This kit has been prepared for teachers in Cook Islands after discussions with local education and fisheries authorities.

It includes suggestions for exercises and activities for younger and older students, learning outcomes and curriculum links. It is expected that teachers will use their local knowledge and expertise to adapt, extend and add to these.

The Guide and the 20 Information Sheets available in the Teachers' Kit can be used in conjunction with the Information Kit for Fishing Communities, which includes 29 information sheets, 3 leaflets and 3 posters. These were designed for fishing communities but contain much information useful to teachers and students.
